Biography
Annemiek Verkamman is managing director of HollandBIO, the Dutch biotechnology industry association. HollandBIO aims for a maximal contribution of life sciences and biotech to a healthy and sustainable society. Under the motto “challenge the status quo”, HollandBIO concentrates its efforts on removing the obstacles that get in the way of our frontrunners. We are very proud to represent over 200 member companies: startups, SMEs and multinational companies that work on new drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, food, cultivated meat or the biobased economy. Annemiek holds a master in Chemistry and a master in Economics & Business Administration and has been active in the life sciences sector for over 20 years. She began her career as a product developer of diagnostic products. Subsequently, Annemiek was program director of the Life Sciences & Health innovation program of the Dutch Government. Annemiek has been the director of HollandBIO and one of its predecessors since 2012.
