Biography
Dr. E.J.M. Siemerink (1976) has been working as an internist-oncologist at Hospital Group Twente (ZGT) in Almelo and Hengelo since 2011. She completed her medical studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2008. She completed her training as an internist at the Medisch Spectrum Twente in Enschede, after which she completed her specialization in oncology in Groningen in 2008. In 2011, she obtained her PhD at the University of Groningen with Prof. Dr. N.H Mulder on research into the relationship between the characteristics of gastric cancer patients and the outcome of the treatment. From 2008 to 2010 she was a board member of the jNVMO. From 2010 to 2015, she was a member of the editorial board of the journal Medical Oncology. From 2012 to 2017 she was a member of the program committee of the Oncology Days for the Netherlands and Flanders. She has also been chair of the program committee of the San Antonio in het Bos congress since 2014. Since 2012, she has been chair of the policy oncology committee in ZGT and since 2016 in the role of medical manager oncology. Since 2016 she has been a board member of the BOOG working group Metastatic Disease. Since November 2018 she has been a member of the executive board of the NVMO Quality Committee and a member of the NVMO Palliative Care Committee. She has been a member of the NABON board since 2021. Her area of interest within medical oncology is breast cancer in particular.
